You never know what you’ll find when you’re a scientist digging around in a cave in Belgium.
In this case, the oldest-ever remains of a dog have been discovered–31,700 years old.
Scientists believe these dogs probably looked similar to Siberian huskies, but were the size of a large shepherd.
It is believed that their diet consisted of ox, horse and reindeer.
Prior to this discovery in Belgium, canine origins were believed to be only about 17,300 years ago.
