A few days ago, we asked our neighbor to come over and take Pom Pom and Casper out for a walk while we spent the day in Portland.

Now, Pom Pom is a perfect little doggie…MOST of the time.  A very rare few moments in life, this little girl can get a bit cranky.

What do I mean by cranky?  Well, imagine being a “stranger,” unlocking the door, and going into a home with two poofy little dogs, one who is cream-colored and low to the ground, running up to lick your face, and another sweet-looking puppy faced little brown doggie with butterfly ears growling and trying to keep you out of her turf as much as her 8-pound body possibly can.

Pom Pom is a very good guard dog – true to her Papillon breed.  However, this causes slight problems in exact moments like this, when we need someone to come check in on her!

Thankfully we have a dog-savvy neighbor who was patient, and waited for Pom Pom to slowly warm up to her enough to walk her.  It helped that we were watching her dog that weekend too!

Pom Pom gets a little cranky sometimes…and definitely only with certain people.  For example, she has a tendency to growl at Dustin’s dad, which he promptly resolves by giving her pieces of whatever meat he can get his hands on.

Hmm…now that I think about it, maybe Pom Pom’s not cranky at all – maybe she’s just GREAT at getting people to give her treats!
