I think it’s fair to say that most dog owners face moments where they’re frustrated with one thing or another that their dog has done, you know, like forgetting that the side of the couch is NOT a bush that can be peed on, or managing to hog up so much of YOUR bed at night that your butt hangs over the side, as you cling to every scrap of blanket you can cover over one leg.

Sure, those things may drive you crazy, but most of us never consider actually giving our dog away. Then again, just look around on Craigslist or your local classifieds and you’ll see plenty of people giving their dog away because “We’re moving and we can’t take him with us” or “I just don’t have time for a dog anymore.”

Cindy and I came across this post on Craigslist, and I really think it’s something all dog owners should read. It’s a nice little reminder of how simple owning a dog can and should be.

Hopefully you’ll read this and you’ll look at your dog with fresh eyes today. Play with them, take them for a walk…spend some time doing little things to make them as happy as they make you.
