Dog of The Day: Tonka From Arizona Humane Society!

Tonka is a member of the Lonely Hearts Club and you can adopt him today for only $35! If you are 60+ years of age, then you can adopt him for $25 through our PAWS Program! (Partnering Animals With Seniors).

Tonka’s his named- just like the truck! His previous owner were moving and they wanted to take me with them but couldn’t because big dogs weren’t allowed in their new apartment.

He has a firm grip on the basic commands and he knows “sit”, “lay down”, and “come” like the back of his paw. He is such a clever canine that he is always willing to learn more though.

Like all black Labrador’s Tonka is a very loving boy who enjoys snuggling on the couch or being by your side while you work in the yard. He loves to play fetch and this athletic dog will even jump in mid air to catch a flying tennis ball. He enjoys going on walks around the neighborhood and diving or splashing around in the swimming pool.

He won’t mind having a canine comrade in his new home but a dog introduction is required. He tends to chase cats and because he is so enthusiastic he may do best with older children.

He is available NOW at the Arizona Humane Society’s Nina Mason Pulliam Campus for Compassion located at 1521 West Dobbins Road in Phoenix. His adoption fee is only $35 because he is a member of our Lonely Heart’s club.

This adoption fee includes his spay surgery, vaccines, a colorful collar and leash, an AHS I.D. tag and a follow-up veterinary exam. For more information about this pet, please call (602) 997-7586 ext. 1045 and ask for animal ID number A311391 or log on to www.azhumane.org.

Please note: This pet might have been adopted by the time you visit the shelter; however, the AHS has many more wonderful pets that also need loving homes. Please take a moment to meet some of the other homeless dogs, cats and other companion animals at the shelter! To see all our adoptable animals right now, www.azhumane.org/findapet
