A story you might want to file under the category of MOST AMAZING THING I’VE EVER HEARD!

Here’s what happened:

Last November, a family and their dog took a sailing trip and encountered some rough waters outside Australia. The waters were so rough that the family dog, named Sophie Tucker, fell overboard.

The family assumed their dog drowned–devastated, they returned home.

However, Sophie Tucker managed to swim to a small island five miles away. This resourceful Australian Cattle Dog spent the next four months eating local small animals to survive (the island Sophie ended up on is mostly uninhabited by people).

After surviving on the island on her own for four months, Sophie Tucker was finally picked up by some rangers who had been on the island.

When Sophie Tucker’s family heard a group of rangers had found a stray dog on an island near the area where their horrible ordeal took place, they contacted the rangers and arranged to meet them to see if by some chance this stray was their Sophie.

The pooch was so excited to see her family, she began whimpering and banging on the cage at the first sight of them.

From family pet to four-month castaway on an island, this dog has truly seen it all!
