Woman Rescues 27 Dogs From Pound

This is one example of good intentions gone bad: A woman looking to adopt a new dog ended up bringing home 27…yes, that’s one dog PLUS another 26 for good measure.

The woman said she was  looking on a Web site that featured animals who were in danger of being euthanized if they did not find a home. Upon arriving at a shelter in California (she’s from Sparks, Nevada), the woman said she couldn’t help but take all the dogs home.

Not only did the shelter allow the woman to take all 27 dogs, animal control officers helped her load the animals into her pickup truck.

Once home, neighbors complained about the barking. One other small detail: A local law states that a person can only have up to three dogs.

The woman (and not the animal shelter) has found new homes for all but four of the dogs.

K9 Commentary:

Yes, this woman, although she meant well, definitely has some sort of hoarding issue…but beyond even that, how and why would an animal shelter let ANYONE take 27 dogs home? A shelter like this shouldn’t be allowed to operate, and hopefully some sort of investigation will take place to ensure nothing like this happens again!
