President-elect Barack Obama made the promise of a new puppy to his two daughters during his victory speech last night.

“I love you both so much, and you have earned the new puppy that’s coming with us to the White House.”

Dad, it’s important to remember when you say things like that, your daughters won’t be letting you off the hook until they get that puppy.

There were no further details about any possible names or breeds the family might choose (most likely due to the fact that there are slightly more important issues at hand presently), but you can be sure they’ll be plenty of suggestions from animal organizations and “What kind of dog should the Obamas adopt?” polls all over the place.
