Sunday was a great day. The sun was out (we see the sun here in Oregon about as often as Southern California sees rain) and it was 70 degrees. Cindy and I couldn’t pass up the chance to take the dogs to this little outdoor event called Yappy Hour–basically, humans get to sit outside together, drink wine and talk while their dogs eat treats and sniff each other’s butts.

We couldn’t believe how many people had also discovered this little Yappy Hour event. There were so many humans and dogs, we had to find a place in the shade and we just hang out on the ground. It was a pretty cool spot though: We got to see all the different dogs as they “signed in” (the folks over at Lexi Dog made paw prints of all the pooches as they arrived).

Pom was great. She’s so easy–as long as she’s plopped in Cindy’s lap, she is completely good to go. Our friend Jenna joined us–she’s one of the few people Pom Pom actually gives the time of day to.

Casper frickin flipped out. He gets super excited whenever he sees a new dog, so the sight of 50 dogs at the same time sent him into whimper overdrive. We know we need to work with him on being less anxious around other dogs, but we had no idea he’d whimper nonstop for more than an hour.

Overall, it was a pretty cool event. Next time we’ll get there early so we can snag a table. I think we’ll work with Casper a little bit before we go back, though.
