A five-year-old Siberian girl was taken in by Russian officials after she was discovered living in unfit conditions–when the girl was first found, she was barking like a dog.

According to officials, the girl was confined in the house by her parents, never allowed to go outside. Apparently, the girl began adopting the behaviors of the dogs and cats she lived with.

The girl cannot speak and seems to have mastered “animal language only.”

She has been observed barking like a dog and jumping at the door when the animals that cared for her leave the room.

The mother of the girl has been questioned, and officials are still attempting to locate the father.
