What’s The Deal With the Scratching?

Top-notch flea meds: Check.

Regular trips to the groomer: Yep

Constant washing of pet bedding: Indeed.

So why are my dogs scratching every night into the wee hours of the morning?

I knew it wasn’t fleas. Pom Pom was the victim of a horrible flea infestation years ago and I got really good at finding those little bloodsuckers.

About the only thing I do know is that it’s really frustrating.

Turns out we’re not the only ones dealing with scratch-a-thon ’08. Cindy found out today that lots of dog owners in Eugene are dealing with the same issue. Everyone think it’s fleas at first, only to find out after a vet visit that they’re dogs are flea-free. Even the vets have no idea what’s going on.

There literally must be something in the air here. Climate drying out their skin, or some kind of weird pollen in the air. Either that or fleas have evolved to the point of mastering teleportation.

I’m gonna go ahead and hope it’s weird pollen.
