California Bill Banning Dogs in Driver’s Seat Vetoed

After Republican Assemblyman Bill Maze noticed a woman driving with three dogs on her lap, he decided to introduce a bill banning dogs to sit on the laps of drivers.

Unfortunately for Assemblyman Maze, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has vetoed the bill. Schwarzenegger says he’s currently only signing high-priority bills for California.

If passed, the bill would have fined drivers $35 for allowing dogs, or any other animal, to sit on their lap while driving.
