The K9 Team

Who produces Avenue K9? A bunch of talented folks who love their pets.

Mike apparently LOVES dogs, so he decided to open up the discussion floor of puppy tricks, treats, kibbles, bits, pebbles and nuggets to other dog owners with Avenue K9. His better canine half, Beary White, is grooming to become a non-show dog dog. Mike often rustles up strange ideas in the wee hours of the morning and e-mails Dustin about his latest epiphanies, jotting down his recent stream of conscience with multiple run-on sentences and ellipses. He blames Shannon for the newest, furry and irresistible family addition.

Dustin has been obsessed with dogs since his diaper days, growing up on a ranch in Southern California. When he’s not waiting hand and foot on his two dogs, Pom Pom and Casper, and his fat cat, Beau, he’s working on his online electronics business or helping his wife Cindy survive her psychology PhD. program. Dustin, Cindy and their little animal farm recently moved to Eugene, Oregon. Pom Pom and Casper couldn’t be happier–there are more trees and grass areas to pee on than they ever imagined.

Cindy grew up in a household without pets and never imagined being a pet parent. In fact, the thought of being responsible for a pet caused her extreme anxiety. Today, Cindy is a proud parent of two small doggies, Pom Pom and Casper, and one big kitty, Beau. She has also grown to be an indiscriminant pet lover. Cindy spends her free time relaxing on the couch with the kids, watching TV, reading funny books and napping. Her other amusements in life include watching Casper and Beau chase each other up and down the stairs, and kissing Pom Pom on the head. Cindy is currently living in Eugene, Oregon, while getting her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology (with plans to move as soon as possible). She lives with her husband, Dustin, who deserves the credit for walking and feeding their kids… basically, for keeping them alive.

Shannon is mom to Beary White, a baby West Highland White Terrier named for his teddy-bear face and furry white coat. She is also aunt to Molly Mayo, a Bichon Frise, and Spanky, a stodgy-old Springer Spaniel, who both live with her parents. Shannon’s love for little white dogs began with Molly. When she moved to Southern California for San Diego State, her college roommates noticed frequent phone calls home to speak to Molly and even a stuffed Molly look-a-like on her bed. Shannon makes a habit of bringing together Beary, Molly, Spanky, as well as Zoe, her one-year old niece, for playtime at Grandma’s.

Dave didn’t get his first dog until he was 15, after 15 years of asking “Dad, can I get a dog yet?” His parents finally had enough and gave in. Dave and his pup Cali are frequently at the beach, going for a run or playing fetch for hours upon hours in the living room. He lives in San Diego with Felicia and Cali, and loves to surf, play soccer, read and sleep when Cali’s not barking at him.

Felicia is a life-long dog-aholic. Growing up with her childhood pup Hoss, a German Shepard, she was known to frequently steal his scooby snacks for herself. She is mom now to a two-year-old Akita-Lab mix named Cali, as well as, aunt to a number of dogs back in her hometown of Chicago. Although she has grown out of her scooby snack stealing, she hasn’t grown out of her love for dogs of all kinds and sizes. Her non-dog interests include reading, scrapbooking, cross-stiching, and looking for a brother or sister for Cali.
