Merrick Recalls Dog Treats Due to Salmonella

Dog treats from a well-known Texas company are being recalled for possible salmonella contamination.

Merrick Pet Foods is recalling all 10-ounce lots of “Beef Filet Squares” for dogs and “Texas Hold’ems” pet treats, made by Merrick Pet Care of Amarillo.

Pets with salmonella may become lethargic, and have diarrhea, fever, or vomiting.

Humans handling the food could also become infected, if they do not thoroughly wash their hands after coming into contact with the food.

Consumers can return the food to the place of purchase for a full refund.
