Dog of The Day: Dolce From Arizona Humane Society!

Every shelter dog has a story to tell and Dolce’s story is undoubtedly tragic. The little Brussels griffon mix was rescued off the streets by a Good Samaritan who then rushed her to the Arizona Humane Society because she was in desperate need of medical care.

Somehow, this brave little 8-year-old managed to severely injure her paw and thankfully the Second Chance™ team was able to treat her wounds. After a few weeks spent recovering in a foster home she quickly found a home. However, a few weeks later her depressed owner committed suicide and left Dolce all alone and once again… homeless.

Dolce may be a mature dog with a bit of gray on her distinguished muzzle, but all that means is that she is much more likely to spend the afternoons snuggling on the couch rather than chewing furniture. Uninterested in toys, this little lap dog would much rather be by your side, and she promises to be a constant companion. That is not to say that she is a lazy couch potato because she really hustles and moves her tiny paws quickly on her morning power walk around the neighborhood. She happens to be leash trained and she has a firm grip on all of the basic commands. She is an all around well-mannered and polite canine.

Dolce is rather particular about the four-legged roommates in her new home. Although she enjoys the companionship of cats, she insists on being the only canine. Rowdy kids don’t settle well with this practical pooch and she needs a home without children visitors.

She is available for adoption NOW at the Nina Mason Pulliam Campus for Compassion located at 1521 West Dobbins Road in Phoenix. Her adoption fee is just $35 because she is a Prime Time dog. This fee includes her spay surgery, vaccinations, a colorful collar and leash with an ID tag and follow-up veterinary exam. For more information about this pet call 602-997-7585 ext. 2045 and ask for animal I.D. number A305775.

Please note: This pet might have been adopted by the time you visit the shelter, however, the Arizona Humane Society has dozens more wonderful pets that might also need loving homes. Please take a moment to meet some of the other homeless dogs, cats and other companion animals at the shelter!
