Copper spent 14-years with a family who adored her but when children entered her world, Copper’s life changed forever. The toddlers were much too rough with this little Chihuahua mix, and sadly her owner had to bring her to the Arizona Humane Society where she now hopes to find a home where she will be handled with care.

Copper may be a mature dog with a bit of gray on her muzzle, but all that means is that she is much more likely to spend the afternoons snuggling on the couch rather than chewing furniture. That is not to say that she is a lazy couch potato because she really hustles and moves her tiny paws quickly on her morning power walk around the neighborhood. She happens to be leash trained and she knows the basic commands. She would appreciate a decent size yard in which she can explore and gallop around with a stuffed toy in her mouth.

Copper wouldn’t mind living with other four-legged roommates in her new home but a family meet and greet is recommended.

She is available for adoption NOW at the Nina Mason Pulliam Campus for Compassion located at 1521 West Dobbins Road in Phoenix. Her adoption fee is just $35 because she is a Prime Time dog. This fee includes her spay surgery, vaccinations, a colorful collar and leash with an ID tag and follow-up veterinary exam.
