Icelandic Sheepdog, Leonberger, and Cane Corso: Welcome to the club.

The American Kennel Club is now recognizing these three big, athletic, muscular pooches  as official breeds (that’s the Icelandic Sheepdog pictured above).

That brings the tally of AKC-recognized breeds to 164.

The benefits of AKC membership? The three breeds can now participate in AKC activities and compete in AKC shows.
