Help Suger Bear Beat Heartworms!

A friend of mine has a dog who was diagnosed with heartworm disease . It’s very, very expensive to treat and she’s unable to afford treatment.

I can’t begin to imagine what I’d do if one of my furry little guys were sick and I couldn’t pay to make them better.

She’s hoping that some super-awesome dog lovers out there will be able to help her out. She asked me to share a letter she wrote about her pooch Suger Bear:

My 8 year old dog has been diagnosed with heartworms. Yes i know that heart worms are not common in lane county but she has them. We have had her tested 2x and both were positive.

Her name is Suger Bear and i have had her for 5 years. we adopted her from a shelter when she was 3 years old. She is a lab/rott/chow. She was very fat, had kennel cough and was shy but she took right to me. I was looking for a service dog that i could train for mobility and she was the perfect fit. After adopting her she trained her self to tell me when i was going to have a seizure. She know is a happy outgoing lab mix that loves her job.

2 weeks ago i had her tested because i just felt like i should. The test came back as positive so it was told to me that she should have a second one done. The second one was also positive for heart worms. When the vet told me this my heart sunk. I know that this was going to cost a lot. I know that i was going to have a hard time paying the bill for her treatment. She goes in tomorrow to talk to the vet about treatment and the full cost of her treatment.

I am asking that if anyone has a soft spot for dogs and has even just a few dollars to spare please help me pay for her treatment so that she can get batter and go back to her life as it was before we found out that she had heart worms.

Here is my vet’s info if you would like to help out with Sugers treatment.

Let them know its to help with the treatment cost for Suger Bear.
