Dog of The Day: Joey From Arizona Humane Society!

It is hard to say how Joey ended up at a local animal shelter but one thing is for sure, there wasn’t enough room for him. In desperation, the shelter workers called the Arizona Humane Society to help. As part of a program called New Hope, Joey along with a handful of other dogs where given hope and the chance to become family pets once again.

Joey is a 1-year-old Australian shepherd mix who boasts a sweet and loving demeanor not to mention tons of energy. His happy smile and wiggly nub tail give him away for the softie he really is. Not only is this affectionate doggie quick on his feet but he is also quick to sneak doggie kisses when he get the chance.

Not only is Joey looking for someone to shower him with attention, but he’s also looking for a family who can keep up with the way he rumbles. At this animated age, Joey lives for adventure and enjoys diving into every fun family endeavor. Joey is like a renewable energy source, and there is no doubt that this doggie loves to play. When he is set free in a spacious backyard he entertains every spectator with his awkward romps and enthusiastic games of fetch.

Joey is completely housetrained and he has already mastered the sit and shake commands and most of the time he will perform the tricks without being asked. He may be too boisterous for some children and other dogs may not appreciate his enthusiasm so a family introduction is required.

He is available NOW at the Arizona Humane Society’s Nina Mason Pulliam Campus for Compassion located at 1521 West Dobbins Road in Phoenix. His adoption fee is just $110. This fee includes his neuter surgery, vaccines, a colorful collar and leash, an AHS I.D. tag and a follow-up veterinary exam. For more information about this pet, please call (602) 997-7586 ext. 1045 and ask for animal ID number A306389 or log on to www.azhumane.org.
