Dog of The Day: Tobin From San Diego Humane Society!

Why I’d make a great companion: I am a mellow, older dog who can’t wait to enjoy the company of my new family.

My favorite activities include: I am a fun-loving guy who enjoys spending quality time with my human companions. Short walks are my favorite type of exercise because I love the beautiful weather in San Diego. You won’t have to worry about finding toys all around the house, because as I’ve grown older I have become less interested in toys. In addition, I may be a perfect match for an older pet parent who wants to take part in the San Diego Humane Society’s Seniors for Seniors Program.

Type of home I’m looking for: I will do well in a variety of homes, but a home without children is recommended.

Other things you should know about me: I came to the San Diego Humane Society with a heart murmur. Over simplified, this means that my heart is not working as efficiently as it should be. During the adoption process, my new pet parents will meet with a veterinarian to answer any questions they may have and learn how to best care for me in the future. I currently do not need medication for my heart, and once adopted, I look forward to a great quality of life with a special family that I will surely treasure! My adoption fee is $50 and includes my neuter, current vaccinations, permanent microchip identification, certificate for a free veterinary exam, and more!

San Diego Humane Society and SPCA pets are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations and microchipped (some small animals, reptiles and birds excepted) prior to adoption. Please note that in order to make the best match possible, potential adopters must come to the Society in person to meet with an adoption counselor and complete the adoption process. All members of the household (including other pets, if possible) should be present to ensure the chosen pet is compatible with everyone. We do not place holds or do adoptions over the phone and we do not ship pets. For more information on the adoption process or to fill out an adoption questionnaire visit
