The Puppy Bowl: Too Cute For Words

puppybowlWhile Dustin spent hours at a Super Bowl party with greasy Mexican food and lots of guys, I stayed home with the kids, my midterm study guide, and a nasty cold.

I celebrated this special occasion by watching the annual Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet.  What better way to feel all warm and fuzzy inside than with baby doggies on TV running around a faux football stadium, with loud crowd noises and play-by-play announcing of the action.

This year, the pups were more ridiculous than usual, and had awesome names like Camomile and Tater Tot.  Add on the awesomely adorable kittens half-time show (I think I saw my cat Athena as a baby!), and I was near cuteness coma by the end of the 2-hour extravaganza.

They also included bunny cheerleaders, and hamsters piloting the blimp…an animal lover’s dream TV programming!

A couple of years ago Dustin and I found out that all of the pets featured on the Puppy Bowl (pups, kittens, even the adult dogs acting as audience) are adoptable pets looking for their forever homes.  LOVE!

I wasn’t the only one who enjoyed the show…Casper jumped off the couch and ran toward the TV, trying desperately trying to join the pups, and kitty Elle was entranced by the half-time show.
