Dog of the Day: Mig From San Diego Humane Society!

migWhy I’d make a great companion: I’m a loving and sweet girl seeking the perfect home for me!

My favorite activities include: With a big heart, I am content just to be loved by my people friends and greatly appreciate their companionship. While I can be shy with new faces and in new places, I will quickly warm up as I become more comfortable in my new environment.

Type of home I’m looking for: I will do well in a variety of homes, but would prefer to be the only pet in my family.

Other things you should know about me: I came to the Humane Society with a condition called diabetes mellitus. Diabetes in animals is similar to diabetes people. The body is unable to use glucose (blood sugar) for energy because of a malfunction. Either there isn’t enough insulin being produced by the pancreas, or the body has become resistant to it and now requires supplementation. During the adoption process my new pet parents will meet a Humane Society veterinarian to ask any questions they may have and learn how to best care for me in the future.

My adoption fee is $100 and includes my spay, current vaccinations, permanent microchip identification, certificate for a free veterinary exam, and more!

DOPTION INFORMATION:
San Diego Humane Society and SPCA pets are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations and microchipped (some small animals, reptiles and birds excepted) prior to adoption. Please note that in order to make the best match possible, potential adopters must come to the Society in person to meet with an adoption counselor and complete the adoption process. All members of the household (including other pets, if possible) should be present to ensure the chosen pet is compatible with everyone. We do not place holds or do adoptions over the phone and we do not ship pets. For more information on the adoption process or to fill out an adoption questionnaire visit www.sdhumane.org.
