Whose Bed Is It, Anyway?

For many months after we got Casper, he was very clear about his sleep preferences: He was a strictly “I like my own bed, thank you very much,” kind of dog. His circular, sherpa-lined bed HAD to be covered by the fleece blanket made specifically for him by his grandma (he also owns a vest made with the same material), and he always took the toy-of-the-week to cuddle with.

This was very surprising to Dustin and I, considering that Pom Pom always wants up on our bed and has now become the queen of our bed. We were glad that Casper enjoyed his own space, since Pom, despite being only 8 pounds, already manages to dominate our bed.

In the past couple of months, Casper seems to have “discovered” our bed. Nowadays, he tells us he’s in a bed mood by jumping onto it as soon we come upstairs for the night…and not moving from that position all night long. And if Dustin and I are lucky, Pom will take Casper’s doggie bed for the night. However, that doesn’t happen too often.

Basically, Dustin and I have resolved ourselves to sharing our already small full size bed with Pom, Casper, and hourly visits from Beau.
