So this won’t be a regular post. It’ll just be a warning, a public service announcement of sorts, if you will. Shannon and I regularly put peanut butter into the Kong so Beary can lick on for hours and hours. Unfortunately, the Kong does wind up pretty messy inside and warrants a thorough cleaning. The brilliant man that I man, I decided to place the Kong into the dishwasher. About half an hour into the washing cycle, Shannon and I noticed a distinct smell coming from the kitchen. Lo and behold, it was the Kong… dissolved, steaming and looking like oil paint. Lesson learned: Do not wash your Kong in the dishwasher… or, at least, place it somewhere you know it won’t fall near the heat rings on the bottom.
