Dog of the Day: Aaron from Arizona Humane Society!

aaronAaron has had a “ruff” start in life, and after wandering the streets for weeks upon weeks looking for his home, he finally crossed paws with a Good Samaritan who brought him to the Arizona Humane Society where he would be safe.

A quick examination revealed that life as a stray was never easy for this German Shepherd and Australian Kelpie mix, and not only was he hungry and dirty but he was covered with scrapes and bruises.

Although he was a little shy around the medical staff at first, by the end of the examination he was wagging his tail and showing off his sweet personality.

Aaron has made a full recovery and now this handsome pooch is looking forward to an everlasting friendship with his new lifelong friend. He hopes to become an indoor dog where he can always be near those he loves most.

Aaron is incredibly sweet, and this easygoing three-year-old is a big fan of ear scratches and belly rubs, and he is always eager to go for long walks in the mornings to get some fresh air. He may need a patient pal to refresh his mind on the basic commands and housetraining, and he may need time to adjust to a new routine.

Aaron is wonderful around other canines, and he would enjoy having a doggie friend to romp in the yard with. He is a little nervous around toddlers and small children, and it would be a good idea to bring the whole family down to meet Aaron before you take him home.

You can adopt Aaron NOW at the Arizona Humane Society’s Nina Mason Pulliam Campus for Compassion, 1521 West Dobbins Road in Phoenix. His adoption fee is just $35 because he is a member of our Lonely Hearts club. This fee includes his neuter surgery, vaccinations, a colorful collar and leash, an AHS I.D. tag, and a free follow-up veterinary examination. For more information about Aaron, please call (602) 997-7586 Ext. 1045 and ask for animal ID number A270563 or log on to www.azhumane.org.
