Dog of the Day: Daisy from Arizona Humane Society!

Daisy may be seven years old, but she shows no sign of slowing down, and she is still a puppy at heart. This loyal Australian Cattle Dog is sure to shower her new forever friend with an endless amount of love, and although her previous family moved away, she has proven herself to be a devoted companion.

Daisy anxiously trots through life, and this busy body is always ready for adventure. She hopes to find a human buddy who enjoys being out in the fresh air and appreciates exploring the great outdoors as much as she does. She enjoys hiking, jogging, camping, and other fun escapades when it is cool outside, and she needs regular exercise to keep her healthy and happy.

Without fun outlets to burn her energy, Daisy takes matters into her own paws and she will try to escape the yard if left alone. She will need a secure yard with a fence that is at least six-feet tall and it must be block.

Daisy is an intelligent dog, and the wheels in her mind are always turning. She is a great problem solver especially when it comes to getting tasty treats out of a Kong toy. Although she already knows the basic commands, she is always up for a challenge and she loves to learn new tricks. She may need some additional help with housetraining if a doggie door is not already available.

Daisy loves attention and she craves human companionship. She loves ear scratches and belly rubs like most dogs, and when you kneel next to her this 30-pound doggie will try and crawl into your lap and shower you with kisses. Daisy would love to play ball in the back yard with children who are at least eight years old. She is nervous around cats, and she may be best as the only doggie in her new home.

You can adopt Daisy NOW at the Arizona Humane Society’s Nina Mason Pulliam Campus for Compassion, 1521 West Dobbins Road in Phoenix. Her adoption fee is just $35 because she is a Prime Time dog. This fee includes her spay surgery, vaccinations, a colorful collar and leash, an AHS I.D. tag, and a free follow-up veterinary examination.
