• 120 Beagles Receive Their Independence!

    Unfrickinbelievable.

One-hundred twenty Beagles and 55 primates were rescued over the weekend from a bankrupt laboratory in Oxford, N.J. Even worse: The lab has been shut down for three months, but the animals used in experiments at the facility were still locked inside.

The building housing the animals was locked up with a sign instructing employees not to return. A handful of caring former employees decided to break into the facility and tend to the animals.

Bank of America, in charge of receivership for the company that owned the lab, was tired of paying for the animals food and water so they looked for a buyer. It took a COURT ORDER to get the animals out–apparently, good ‘ol B of A wouldn’t budge and free the animals without one.

The primates and the beagles have all ended up in the good hands of local rescue groups.

The dogs received little human contact while in the lab, so it’ll take some time to socialize the pooches and get them used to human contact. Thankfully, all dogs are said to be in good health.
