Save Some Money: Raid the Fridge and Make These Dog Treats

homemade-dog-treats.jpg

These treats are quick, easy and use some pretty common ingredients you probably have in your kitchen. Best of all, this treat is pooch-approved–Pom Pom and Casper eat ’em by the truckload.

Meaty Mini Cupcakes:

Ingredients:

1 pound ground beef

1 stalk celery, finely chopped

1 cup quick oats or oat flour

2 tablespoons tomato paste

2 tablespoons water

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

2 eggs, beaten

 How to make these babies:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F

Mix the dry ingredients and ground beef together in a big bowl.

In a small bowl, blend the tomato paste and water.

Add the tomato paste and water mixture to the dry ingredients, along with the Worcestershire sauce, celery and beaten eggs.

If you have a mini-muffin tin, grease it lightly or fill it with paper liners (if you don’t have a mini-muffin tin, use a regular sized muffin tin). Spoon the mixture into the cups.

If using a mini-muffin tin, bake for 15 minutes.

If using a regular sized muffin tin, bake for a few minutes longer.

Make sure to wait til the muffins are cooled off before giving them to your pooch!
