Driver Arrested After Killing Puppy in Hit-and-Run

Last month, a man driving on the wrong side of the road struck and killed a puppy with his vehicle in Staten Island, NY.

The puppy, a five-month-old pit bull named Gigi, was crossing a street with her owner when the incident took place. The man immediately fled the scene in his vehicle.

After an investigation by the ASPCA, the driver was found and arrested. In addition to being charged with leaving the scene of an accident, the 22-year-old man was also driving with a suspended license.

The driver faces up to a year in prison if convicted.
