Keep Your Dog Safe from Electric Shock!

Stray voltage on city streets from dormant utilities plus wet winter weather equal one very big risk for you and your dog during those winter walks outdoors.

Manhole covers, lampposts, grates or any type of metal fixtures are all places where this stray voltage may occur. In other words, steer clear of these potential hazards whenever possible!

According to the ASPCA, any odd behavior from your dog, such as skittishness, fear or anger may be a sign of an electric shock, so monitor your dog’s behavior closely when outdoors.

If you see signs of any stray voltage, call your local fire department immediately!
