It’s become a sad reality that movies with dogs as main characters lead to many people going out and buying the same breed of dog they see on the Big Screen.
Apparently, once they realize their new dog isn’t like the “Beverly Hills Chihuahua,” it usually ends up in the shelter.
With the release of “Marley and Me” this week, 20th Century Fox and the American Humane Association have launched a campaign to help increase awareness about the carelessness of of dumping pets after these dog-centered movies come out, and to encourage pet owners to adopt from animal shelters.
As always, do research before buying a dog to make sure you know what you’re getting into!
