Oregon Capitol Says No Dogs Allowed at Statehouse

It’s amazing what tens of millions of dollars worth of redecorating can do to a pet policy.

Starting in January, dogs will no longer be allowed at the statehouse in Salem, Oregon.

The reason: Lawmakers want to maintain a more professional atmosphere, and, of course, protect that $34 million renovation investment–including new couches and carpet.

Service dogs would still be allowed in the building, however.
