October is Adopt a Shelter Pet Month, and there’s no better way to cap things off then to talk about the Home 4 the Holidays adoption drive!
The Home 4 the Holidays program started back in 1999 with 14 San Diego area shelters teaming up to adopt more than 2,500 pets.Things have come a long way since those days. Last year, they adopted nearly 500,000 pets. This year they’re aiming for 1 million adoptions.
The adoption drive began on October 1 and continues through January 5, 2009. Home 4 the Holidays is being sponsored by Iams, and Felicity Huffman (along with her adopted dog Tucker)Â is the celebrity spokesperson.
We’ll have updates on the progress of the adoption drive throughout the coming weeks. At last check, there have already been more than 116,000 adoptions!
