Pom Gives Us Another Scare…

Ohhhhh Pom Pom.

This past Friday night, out of nowhere, Pom looked like she was in a ton of pain–eyes bulging, shaking, not moving. I was feeling around on her, looking for any specific areas that might be hurting her, and I felt a big ass area of swelling on her left gland.

Then we noticed she wasn’t able to open her mouth.

Back to the emergency vet we go.

Five hours of waiting later, we returned home with more questions than answers as to what this swelling was all about. They took a sample of the fluid from the swollen area and sent it away to be tested (we’re still awaiting those results). The swelling has almost fully drained at this point (yum), although there’s still a small amount of swelling in that same spot. The good news is that she’s opening her mouth just fine again, and eating, drinking and doing everything else normally.

Hopefully this is nothing major…
