My Chemical Romance Drummer’s Dog Dies Mysteriously at Kennel

The drummer for the band My Chemical Romance is suing the owner of a dog training kennel where his dog died under mysterious circumstances.
Bob Bryar had taken his dog Dixie, a German shepherd mix, to the kennel in hopes of helping to train his dog to adjust to a new dog in the household (Dixie was a rescue dog that had been previously abused).
After Dixie had been at the kennel for a week, Bryar received a call from the kennel saying his dog was killed when a vehicle that was carrying Dixie and some other dogs was struck by a drunk driver. The kennel had Dixie cremated before Bryar could see her.
The owner of the kennel has changed his story, saying that Dixie died in her sleep–he has since changed his story again.

i dropped my dog off at a trainer while were away on vacation.our black lab named simba was a hunting dog and was being trained to retrieve .the dog was there for 5 days we called to check on him they told us two days before he was taken to a animal hospital cause he stopped eating and was running a temp of 106.we called the hosp and they said he started vomiting blood and was very ill about an hour later he had blood coming out his nose,mouth and rectum.The vet did a bunch of test but does not no what was wrong with our dog he said to us he feels that the dog needed to be put down and that he wouldnt even charge us the fee to uthanize him thats hoe bad he was.Our dog was at the vet 1 week prior to being dropped off at the kennel and he was in good health had shots and everything then he dies.we could not be with him while he was suffering and i feel when i shut the door to the kennel i locked him in the kennel of death.We now have a huge vet bill and no dog since we dropped a healthy dog off i believe the kennel owner should be liable for something.We never signed any contract with this man we left him there for 3months last year for hunting training and he had to go get checked out because he hurt his paw.This man never even contacted us to tell us our dog was sick.He said he didnt have our phone number we wouldnt leave our dog without a number.I belive our dog got into somekind of posion or maybe bite by a snake really im so confused and saddened i want to know what happened to my dog.
I’m really sorry to hear this. It’s always a bit unnerving to leave your dog at a pet service when you don’t know the owner personally and have no way of judging how he or she operates. One time, Shannon and I brought our dog Beary to the groomer and wanted to get his claws trimmed. Lo and behold, when she proceeded with one paw, Beary started bleeding a little, because she had clipped too close to his flesh. Because the groomer assured us that that was typical — and Shannon and I simply didn’t know better, since we were newbie dog owners ourselves and the groomer was a recommended to us — we let her continue on his other three paws. Each time, she miscalculated clipping Beary’s claws, and he eventually ended up with all four paws bleeding. And even though she quickly put this putty-like cement stuff on his claw to prevent the bleeding, I almost wanted to yell at her face after that traumatic experience. I suppose we could have gone the legal route and filed a complaint — especially since we can’t clicker train him anymore (the sound of the nail claw clipper, which sounds the same as the training clicker, still has him spooked today — but we eventually glossed over that event. If I were in your shoes (and if this happened recently… say maybe last week) with some sort of evidence — maybe a statement from your vet — I probably would try to file some sort of complaint so that it’s on the record. Better yet, if he’s listed with the BBB, let them know, too. You’ve already told us along with the several thousands that read this site, so thank you for keeping us informed =)
My sister has a dog day care service. And I must admit I personally am still nervous to leave my own dog at my sisters for the day. She runs a great service, but I think the thing is im no longer in control.
Things can go wrong very easily. and from my experience my dog never liked going to the kennel. I would much rather look for somebody who is more personally involved with my dog to leave him at.
