I got sick of seeing the Everlasting Treat Ball collecting dust in our cabinet (aka: Dog Treat Graveyard) for the past two months.
Thanks to some frustrating events at work, I was in a particularly destructive mood–so I decided to get out my hammer and smash up Mr Everlasting Treat Ball.
OK…that sounded a little psycho…I was simply CURIOUS as to whether the dogs would be more interested in the treat if it were GENTLY TAPPED to pieces with a hammer…gently tapped multiple times…alright, a bit HARDER if necessary to break the sucker in half.
Anyway, I took it outside and it broke into four pieces after a couple good whacks.
I gave a piece to Casper and he ran off with it in his mouth into the bedroom. Pom Pom took her piece, tried to bury it under the blanket on her bed, and when that failed, resorted to keeping it directly in front of her nose and away from curious Casper for the rest of the day.
Successful hammer therapy for me, a second life for the Everlasting Treat Ball, and some highly prized items for the pooches.
That’s what I call win-win-win.
