Millionaire Offers $75 million for Pet Overpopulation Solution

So here’s the deal: Come up with a non-surgical, one-time way to sterilize cats and dogs and get $75 million.
That’s the offer a retired and very, very wealthy doctor will be making through his non-profit Found Animals Foundation.
Gary Michelson will give $25 million to the person or group that comes up with a non-surgical sterilization method, and another $50 million to fund supporting research.
Michelson believes that the large sum will help encourage numerous people to seriously focus on making non-surgical sterilization a reality within the next 10 years.
It is hoped that finding an easier, cheaper means of spaying and neutering pets will help put an end to shelters euthanizing 4 million-6 million animals every year.

Thank you, Dr. Michelson, first of all, for your kindness and caring for animals. I have always greatly admired people who utilize their influence as well as money for the good of living beings. My passion is saving cats and so I was especially thrilled and thankful to see this article. Finally, someone is doing something that may actually work! My hope is that it will be very soon that someone will be able to claim this money which, in turn, will mean that a harmless, viable solution is well on it’s way. Just a P.S. – I would love to see cats living indoors only. Not only will they live longer, but they will definitely live safer. Somehow, I’ll start a drive for “indoor Cats Only”. You’ve inspired me! P.P.S. – What do you think of a Cat Sanctuary in California? I think one is definitely needed here, (even after your idea comes to fruition)! Just a thought – for now! THANK YOU again!!!
I TOTALLY agree and support “indoor cats only” policy for cat owners. We have 3 cats ourselves and they are quite content – we provide them with many scratchers and interactive toys to keep them busy, not to we need to because they play with themselves! I would support any sanctuaries for any animals anywhere!
